In Dictator, eight young people with no interest in the democratic process spend eight days locked in a grim, Soviet-style building, where they are subjected to a range of monotonous, arbitrary and humiliating experiences. They are stripped of personal belongings, have no access to clocks or daylight, and must live under a brutal curfew system, with long periods spent in isolation. A big cash prize is the incentive – but the contestants are unaware of what they must do to win the money. All they know is that the society in which they find themselves is run by an unseen but all-powerful dictator.
